What is the G7?
Also known as the Group of Seven, these countries are seven of the largest economies of the world.Together, they represent more than 62 per cent of the global net wealth ($280trillion).
The G7 member countries are the United States, Britain, France, Japan, Germany, Italy, and Canada. The first six countries were the original members of the G6. Its first summit was held at Rambouillet, France, in 1975. At that time it was the G6. Canada joined in 1976, making it the G7. In 1997, Russia joined, making it the G8.
In 2013, the G8 became the G7. That's because Russia invaded Crimea. The other G8 members excluded Russia as part of sanctions against it. There are three ways Ukraine's crisis affects you.
Other important global leaders are invited, including representatives of the European Union, China, India, Mexico, and Brazil. The leaders of important international organizations are also invited, including the IMF, World Bank, and United Nations.

How often are summits held?
Summits are held annually, and hosted on a rotation basis by the group's members.
The 2018 summit was hosted by Canada in Quebec from June 8-9.
The 45th G7 summit was from August 24-26, 2019, in Biarritz in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France.
The 46th G7 summit was scheduled to be held on June 10 through June 12, 2020, originally to take place in Camp David, United States, on behalf of the Group of Seven.
Why Donald Trump postpones it?
US President Donald Trump postpones G7 summit, says "he wants to invite India, Russia, Australia and South Korea and I don't feel that as a G7 it properly represents what's going on in the world. It's a very outdated group of countries. It could happen in September, either before or after the UN General Assembly".
